WARRANTY POLICIES

FURNACES

(Including Incinerators, Cremators, and other furnaces)

This is the only warranty given by Macrotec. No amendments or additions to the warranty shall be binding on Macrotec.

Macrotec Furnaces are warrantied against faulty materials and workmanship during manufacture. Macrotec will at its sole discretion repair, or replace, the faulty item(s) with new or remanufactured one(s). This warranty expressly covers the furnaces only and does not cover any other part or parts of the installation which may as a consequence of the failure or defect of the furnaces become damaged.

The period of warranty is calculated from the date of manufacture. Repairs or replacements carried out under warranty do not extend the warranty on the product.

This warranty is only valid if:

  • The furnace must be operated as per the operating instructions, and within the provided site specifications.
  • Maintenance be done as per maintenance instructions, by a Macrotec approved technician.
  • All products used in the installation complies with SANS regulations.
  • The furnace is installed under cover and not exposed directly to the weather.
  • No modifications are made.

Warranties exclude:

  • Damage caused by power surges or power failure
  • Damage caused by malicious action
  • Damage caused by operator error
  • All wear items, including but not limited to:
    • Thermocouples
    • Burner components
    • Refractory wear blocks
    • Heat exchanger tubes
    • Fuel filters
    • Filter elements
    • V-belts
    • Gaskets

Product Warranty Periods:

  • Equipment manufactured by Macrotec – 12 months
  • Other equipment – Original OEM warranty

 Further:

  • Should the plant not be operated to The Company’s specifications or if any unapproved modifications are made or unapproved components installed by unauthorised operators and installers then all warranties shall be immediately void.
  • Should any component not be maintained in accordance with The Company’s specifications or be serviced by an unauthorised person then any warranty in relation to that component shall be immediately void.

HOT WATER TANKS / VESSELS

This is the only warranty given by Macrotec. No amendments or additions to the warranty shall be binding on Macrotec.

Macrotec Pressure Vessels are warrantied against faulty materials and workmanship during manufacture. Macrotec will at its sole discretion repair, or replace, the faulty item(s) with new or remanufactured one(s). This warranty expressly covers the pressure vessel only, and does not cover any other part or parts of the installation which may as a consequence of the failure or defect of the pressure vessel become damaged.

The period of warranty is calculated from the date of manufacture. Repairs or replacements carried out under warranty do not extend the warranty on the product.

Other Goods supplied by the Company shall have the original OEM warranty and any warranty claim will be subject to the approval of the original OEM.

This warranty is only valid if:

  • The vessel is installed and operated in accordance with Macrotec specifications and procedures. This includes temperature and pressure parameters. See owner’s manual for more information.

  • Water conditions comply to SANS 241 specifications.

  • All products used in the installation complies with SANS specifications and regulations.

  • There is no exposed carbon steel in any piping connected to the vessel.

  • No structural repairs or modifications are made.

  • No modifications are made.

  • Maintenance is done as per the Owner’s Manual.

  • Sacrificial anodes are installed with all vessels. The anode must be inspected on yearly basis and replaced if necessary.

Warranties also do not cover the following

  • Damage caused by power surges or power failure.

  • Damage caused by malicious action.

  • Damage caused by operator error.

  • All wear items, including but not limited to:

    • Anodes

    • Electrical Elements

    • Heat exchanger tubes

    • Filter elements

    • Gaskets

Product Warranty Periods

  • Pressure vessel structure: 3 years
  • Interior lining: 2 years
  • Other Accessories: OEM Warranty

Electrical elements are not covered by the warranty due to the adverse effects hard water can have, as well as adverse effects of power surges and power failures. 

Further:
  • Should the plant not be operated to The Company’s specifications or if any unapproved modifications are made or unapproved components installed by unauthorised operators and installers then all warranties shall be immediately void.
  • Should any component not be maintained in accordance with The Company’s specifications or be serviced by an unauthorised person then any warranty in relation to that component shall be immediately void.

Defective Workmanship Warranty for Repairs and Maintenance

Macrotec hereby warrants that the Work will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of repair or installation, subject to the following:
 

  • Macrotec makes no warranty with respect to failures notified after the warranty period or failures during operation without logging or failures due to:

     
    • alteration
    • misapplications
    • abuse
    • abnormal conditions of temperature, dirt, or corrosive matter
    • maintenance not carried out according to Macrotec’s instructions
    • lack of trained personnel for maintenance
    • lack of trained personnel for operation
    • operation above rated capacities
    • operation not according to the operating manual
    • physical damage caused by persons other than employees of Macrotec.
  • Macrotec makes no warranty for any wear and tear, or wear items.
  • That Macrotec’s sole liability under valid warranty regarding claims for defects in material and workmanship is limited, at the option of the Macrotec, to repair or replacement of the defective parts.
  • That with respect to components purchased by the Macrotec for incorporation into the work essentially without modification, the Macrotec makes no warranties of its own but assigns to the Buyer/Client the full warranty extended to Macrotec as part of the original purchase of the component.
